The things I love most about Raj Comics are, apart from the stunning artwork, they use fiction, Indian mythology, current affairs, popular events to draft proper stories / formidable villains and end the story. Let's use science / proper reasoning. Subsequent events open themselves easily. Also most of the incidents take place in the Indian subcontinent which makes them more interesting to read. I am not able to give too much detail because I do not want to spoil the story. Everyone should read them and decide. The best story for me is-
This Nagraj is the one most people are familiar with. Its first appearance was in 1986, in the comic titled Nagraj. He is basically the king of Nagadweep, and the love interest of Visarpi. At some point of time in comics, he was banished from Nagdweep and later came to the city Mahanagar where he took upon an alter ego of Raj (Similar to Superman’s Clark Kent), and started working for Bharti Communications. He has the least aggressive personality of all the three Nagraj, as evident from his name, which is why he refrains from killing his enemies, unless they are a major threat. He is also very popular with kids. His powers include vish phukar (breath of poison), icchadhari shakti (shape shifting powers. Can disintegrate his body into particles for 3 sec), superhuman strength, accelerated healing factor, vish dansh (poison fang), and his body is home to millions of snakes with different powers like dhwansak sarp (detonates on contact), nagfani sarp (have sharp spikes), jagmag sarp (glowy snakes), microscopic snakes (can be injected into someone’s body to heal them, control them or kill them from inside). He also has 3 special shape shifting snakes who often help him in his pursuit and each have their own different powers : Sheetnag kumar (prince of the Himalayan snakes. Has ice related powers), Naagu (A goofster and bollywood fan. He has a gem to keep his powers in control. Master of trickery and disguise), Saudangi (princess of the snakes belonging to Egypt’s Cleopatra's clan. She is a master magician and has hypnotic powers).

The story starts off with Professor Kautilya Nagmani (The guy with the glasses in the middle on the right cover) addressing a group of people who happen to be associated with the underworld and are some of the most wanted criminals on the planet, about how he created the most powerful weapon in the history of mankind, i.e Narak Nashak Nagraj!

Professor Kautilya Nagmani was a pioneer in research of snake venom and their medicinal properties in curing deadly diseases like cancer. Hence, in order to find the famed mythical icchadhari snakes(shape shifting snakes) who possessed the world’s most powerful venom in them, Professor Nagmani, traveled to the islands of Andaman. He kept searching for days but found nothing until, his boat got caught in a ferocious storm and ultimately capsized on a mysterious island, which happened to be the home of the icchadhari snakes. On that island, he found a mysterious temple, whose guardian was fighting off some enemies who apparently wanted to kill the ‘child’. After seeing this, Nagmani helped the guardian by shooting some of his enemies. After all his enemies were killed, the priest asked Nagmani to take away the boy and look after him. The child was born brain dead due to the severe concentration of venom in his head. The priest asked Nagmani to use his medicinal knowledge and cure the boy because the boy happened to be a gift from the gods themselves, the destined heir of Nagdweep, the future king of all snakes, the very incarnation of Takshak himselfwhich is why he was very important in saving the critical link between humans and snakes. And when the boy turned 14, he must bring him over to this very temple for the boy to find out about his destiny and unlock his true powers and claim his title as the king of snakes, or Nagraj!

The best part for me was that in this story it was the Nagraj/ SCD vs the entire world which included their friends, family, innocents etc. Infact at the end even Nagraj faltered and defected to the wrong side but SCD was able to handle it as always. Never saw SCD flirt in any comic but Samrat. The fight between Nagraj and the Dragon was entertaining. The security system designed by Shweta was fascinating as well.
